Northern Michigan artist Bill Schieber has been preparing to enter the wildlife art arena his entire life.
A Michigan native and avid hunter and angler, Bill has a keen sensitivity to the slender of nature and wildlife. A rare talent allows Bill to transcribe the beauty he sees in nature, using a technique, individually and pain-staking burning each image onto Buckskin. While originally a means of personal expression, the encouragement of family and friends and Bill's experience as an entrepreneur and business person has enabled him to turn his hobby into a new career in wildlife art.
Bill has the ability envision a blend of wildlife and landscapes. The humorous, dramatic and serene images are well within his grasp, as illustrated by the scenes he creates. Bill explains, "I use photographs and drawings to provide reference for texture and structure."
Bill adds that although big game, moose, elk and deer are of particular interest to him as subjects, he has also creates Native American portraits and scenes of the Southwest. Bill has done many custom pieces which vary from pets, sports events and special moments. Bill has adapted his unique art form into several applications such as pillows, matted and framed pictures, bags and free form pieces.
